It also seems that we are way ahead of the times as we have just completed a large project where Magenta featured heavily. The pop of colour accentuated the different areas perfectly. Adding interest and certainly lifted the mood in the more neutral areas of the building.

What is Viva Magenta?

As quoted by Pantone themselves the colour Viva Magenta 18-1750, vibrates with vim and vigour. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength.

Viva Magenta is a bold, rich ,crimson red tone that presents a balance between warm and cool.

The colour was chosen to reflect the shift towards climate awareness and sustainability, with a pink-red hue that represents our love for nature and our desire to bring some of that natural beauty into our workplace. It sits midway between red and blue. It’s often described as a pinkish, purplish red, and in the words of Pantone, it’s ‘audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all.’ Magenta is the colour of universal harmony and emotional balance. It contains the passion, power and energy of red, restrained by the introspection and quiet energy of violet. Promoting compassion, kindness and cooperation.

This particular shade might seem too dramatic for some but don’t be fooled. This hot pink is the perfect midway between cool and warm, shocking and soothing, so even if you’re a tad colour shy there’s bound to be a place for this. Magenta works with an array of different tones. For a feminine feel combine other shades of pink. By adding yellows and bright blues this will create a modern palette and pairing it with neutral whites and greys will ensure a contemporary stylish scheme with a hint of colour.
