Storage Solutions

Racking refers to a storage system designed to efficiently organise and store various goods within a warehouse or storage facility. These systems consist of multiple levels of storage bays, utilising vertical space to maximise storage capacity and optimise inventory management. Racking is used to improve accessibility, increase storage density, and facilitate the efficient handling of materials, making it an essential component in industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and retail.

Pallet Racking

Pallet Racking

Pallet racking is a type of racking specifically designed to store palletized goods. It consists of uprights and beams that create multiple levels of horizontal storage, allowing for the easy placement and retrieval of pallets using forklifts. Pallet racking is highly versatile and can be configured to suit various storage needs, offering benefits such as improved space utilisation, easy inventory management, and quick access to individual pallets. It is widely used in warehouses, distribution centres, and manufacturing facilities.

Drive-In Racking

Drive-in racking is a high-density storage solution that allows forklifts to drive directly into the rack structure to place or retrieve pallets. This system eliminates the need for multiple aisles, maximising storage space for large quantities of similar items. Drive-in racking is ideal for storing homogeneous products with low turnover rates, where space efficiency is critical. It is commonly used in industries such as food and beverage, where large volumes of the same product need to be stored together.

Live Pallet Racking

Live pallet racking, also known as dynamic or flow racking, uses gravity and inclined rollers to facilitate the automatic movement of pallets from the loading end to the picking end. This system ensures first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory management, making it suitable for perishable goods and high-rotation items. Live pallet racking improves efficiency by reducing handling times and minimising the space needed for aisles, which is beneficial in industries like food distribution and pharmaceuticals.

Double Deep Pallet Racking

Double deep pallet racking involves storing pallets two deep instead of one, effectively doubling the storage capacity of a standard pallet rack. This system requires specialised forklifts with extended reach capabilities but offers significant space-saving advantages. Double deep pallet racking is suitable for warehouses with limited floor space and is typically used for storing large quantities of similar products with moderate turnover rates, enhancing storage density without sacrificing accessibility.

Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racking is designed to store long, bulky items such as lumber, pipes, and steel bars. It features horizontal arms extending from vertical columns, providing unobstructed access to stored goods. This racking system is highly adaptable, allowing for easy adjustment of arm heights to accommodate various product sizes. Cantilever racking is widely used in the construction and manufacturing industries, where efficient storage of long materials is essential.

Vertical Racking

Vertical racking is a storage solution for tall, slender items like pipes, lumber, and metal extrusions. This system organises items vertically, saving horizontal floor space and making it easier to access individual pieces. Vertical racking is ideal for facilities with limited space that need to store and manage long items efficiently. It is commonly used in hardware stores, construction supply centres, and manufacturing plants where such materials are frequently handled.

Garment Racking

Garment racking is specifically designed for storing clothing on hangers. It consists of horizontal bars or rails where garments can be hung, providing a neat and organised way to store apparel. This type of racking is essential for retail stores, warehouses, and distribution centres dealing with large volumes of clothing. Garment racking helps maintain the condition of clothes, facilitates easy access and inventory management, and maximises storage space.

Pallet Racking Protection

Pallet racking protection involves various safety measures and devices designed to safeguard racking systems from damage and ensure the safety of personnel. This includes corner protectors, column guards, rack end protectors, and safety netting. Protecting pallet racking is crucial to prevent accidents, prolong the lifespan of the racking system, and maintain the integrity of stored goods. These protective elements are vital in any warehouse or storage facility where forklifts and other machinery operate.

Small Parts Storage

Efficient storage of small parts is crucial for maintaining an organised and productive warehouse environment. At CID Workspace, we offer innovative storage solutions that maximise space utilisation and streamline inventory management. Our small part storage systems are designed to provide easy access and quick retrieval, reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.

Shelving Systems

Shelving systems are designed for lighter loads and smaller items.Shelving is suitable for a wide range of items, from small parts and tools to medium-sized boxes and inventory. Items on shelves are typically accessible by hand, making shelving ideal for areas where quick, direct access to products is necessary. Shelving units can be adjusted to different heights and configurations to suit specific storage needs, such as bin shelving or modular drawer systems.Shelving is often easier to assemble and reconfigure compared to racking systems, allowing for greater flexibility.

Hear from our happy customers

Robin RobertsSutton Housing Society

CID Spaces did an amazing job refurbishing our office space and three communal areas in our Independent Housing for Older People. They finished everything on time, stayed within budget, and the quality of their work was top-notch. The office makeover was a huge hit with our team—they love the new look and feel. We've also had lots of positive comments from our residents throughout the project and afterwards. We wouldn't think twice about working with CID Spaces again—they're fantastic at what they do.

We had the pleasure of working with our neighbours, CID Spaces, for our office fit-out, and we are very happy with the results. The communication and standard of workmanship was outstanding, and they completed the project on time and within budget. I can highly recommend CID Spaces.

I’ve only had positive comments about the work carried out by CID Spaces. Our MD was very impressed with the work. He said he didn’t notice anything until this morning which proves it was a neat and tidy job! Laura has said that we aren’t going to recommend you to anyone else... just in case you can’t fit our work in!

Working with yourselves and the rest of your extended team really has been a pleasure. I will sing your praises and recommend you to all with in our team and outwards. If you think our new office will assist in any new business negotiations I’d love to show it off. I have had amazing feedback from the senior team about here so thank you for that.
