NHS Refurbishment

Highgate Mental Health Centre| London

CID Work.space is proud to deliver projects within the public sector. Over the past year, we have been working on a major refurbishment project at Highgate Mental Health Centre, in conjunction with a main contractor. We are contracted to refurbish over 100 rooms across 11 wards at the hospital.

The Challenges

The project is complex, requiring a range of specialist skills and products to be used. CID Work.space has installed new ceilings, new capped and coved vinyl flooring, and redecorated the rooms, to create a fresh and modern look. In addition, the company has installed Altro Whiterock, a hygienic wall cladding system that is resistant to bacteria and mold, and Venesta IPS panels, which provide a sleek and durable solution for integrated plumbing systems.

Anti-ligature finishes

One of the unique challenges is the specialist anti-ligature finishes and products. These are designed to prevent patients from using fixtures and fittings in a way that could cause harm to themselves or others. For example, the blinds in the rooms have to have anti-ligature fixings, and the doors are anti-barricade, ensuring that patients cannot lock themselves in or prevent staff from entering.

Hygiene

Hygiene is also a top priority in the mental health centre, and CID Work.space has used Sterishield paint in a large number of rooms. This type of paint has antibacterial properties that help to prevent the spread of germs and infections, making it an ideal choice for healthcare settings.

CID Work.space is now approximately a third of the way through this large project, which is expected to take several more months to complete. The company is committed to delivering the highest possible standards of workmanship, and is working closely with the hospital staff to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum during the refurbishment process.
